Learned today that Filippo's (nessuno2001) book with Emilio D'Alessandro is translated to English. Two sections of interesting photos I'd never seen before.

I have this since it was first released. Admit I've only read sections of it, but good reading.

The TIFF bookshop had the 2012 Italian version for ages, but somehow it took them a year to stock the English edition.

"Spider Baby--or the Maddest Story Ever Told" made in1963 and released in1967. Dark Comedy, sick dark comedy. A classic. I'd never seen or heard of it before. So I tinted it and colorized it a bit and uploaded it to youtube.
Skimmed through the whole thing and watched the last 10 minutes. Reminded me of "Carnival of souls"...Wikipedia notes it was filmed 2 years after that in a similarly rushed 12-day B&W production. Also seemed like writer/director Jack Hill used a lot of un-scripted improv, or made scenes up as he went along. Great HD transfer, though.

Carnival of Souls is more of an actual horror film. Great camp value too. I like the remake of Carnval of Souls has a similar but different title.

I had to rewatch Spider Baby again. It has some good cinematography,
